I have recently become enamored with shaving and its subtleties. For Christmas I received my first specialty shaving kit containing: pre-shave oil, badger hair brush, authentic shaving cream, and post shave lotion. I love the kit; when I shave with it it is a therapeutic experience and a small way to treat myself . With is I have been able to accomplish the closest shave I have ever had. I recommend the traditional shaving kit to everyone interested in a close comfortable shave.
Here a link to the company I got my kit through:

Goal
The goal of this blog is to create a place where I can administer my own opinions on life, specifically relating to being a gentlemen and perhaps being human. I myself am an aspiring gentleman who is working on being human, so as I experience new revelations, hopefully on a weekly basis, I will post my new found enlightenment.
In the spirit of the title I will also administer my first thoughts on being a successful human, focussed on having goals.
Why goals are beneficial:
-Tangible marker of progress
-Help organize
-Give a greater sense of purpose
-Help view the larger & smaller pictures
-Prevent stagnation
-e.c.
I have found it beneficial for myself that when setting goals I use two different styles of setting. My first style of setting goals is my favorite; as I go about my day I almost always have my journal on me and when a potential goal presents itself I write it down. Later, I usually read through my journal and take notes of different ideas I have had and sort out the good from the bad. The other method I use is much more regulated than the first. The second method is done by sitting down, generally at the beginning of a new "phase" of life, with pen and paper and set goals concerning all of my obligations, wants, and needs. Generally this is much more of a drawn out and less inspired practice.
The greatest challenge that I face concerning goals is sticking to them. I find that it is beneficial to set multiple types of goals (long-term and short-term, lofty and realistic, practicable and for fun)
